On the fourth day of the 2012 Peace On Earth Film Festival, Sunday, February 26, in celebration of all filmmakers in attendance the festival's directors, along with attending Transcendence Global Media' Board of Directors, awarded the 'Best of the Fest' certificate plaques and monetary awards in each following categories:

Andrew Buckland, Producer/Director; Maria Azcue, Producer - Special Community Action Award presented to Free Spirit Media**
*Documentary Exposé Award added at the 2012 festival, honors both a long and a short documentary film that exposes subject matter not normally covered by mainstream media, bringing light to situations that the majority of the viewing audience is not aware of.
**Special Community Action Award presented to Free Spirit Media (FSM), emanating out of Chicago's own North Lawndale College Prep. FSM provides education, access, and opportunity in media production to over 500 underserved urban youth every year.
2013 Festival Announcement
The Directors of the Peace On Earth Film Festival, along with the Board of Directors of Transcendence Global Media, NFP, are pleased to announce that the 2013 Peace On Earth Film Festival, will once again be hosted by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, and will take place in the historic Chicago Cultural Center's Claudia Cassidy Theater, beginning Thursday, March 7, through Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Submission dates for the 2013 Peace On Earth Film Festival will be posted on our website and on the WAB on or about June 1, 2013.
Admission is free and open to the public.

Peace On Earth Film Festival (POEFF) is a not-for-profit festival established to celebrate and encourage the work of independent filmmakers from around the world on the themes of peace, nonviolence, social justice and eco-balance. POEFF aims to contribute to a culture of peace through international cinema, dialogue and programming highlighting individuals on the vanguard of peace activism and social change. POEFF endeavors to enlighten and empower individuals, families, and communities to step out of the ignorance of conflict, violence and divisiveness, into the light of communication, consideration, tolerance and understanding.
